Rev. Smith has been ministering at His Heart Tabernacle, a local church serving the Mechanicsburg PA community, since 1997.  Prior to appointment as Pastor of the Church, Rev. Smith embraced the vision the Lord gave her for the body of believers at the Church and the work that would be done.  Elected as full-time Pastor in November of that year, her background included ten years of teaching and ministry in the Harrisburg area.  She received credentials in October, 1997 from the Pentecostal Church of God [head-quartered in Joplin, MO] and has been subsequently ordained with both the PCG and World Evangelism Fellowship during her years in ministry. 

Rev. Smith officially transitioned the Church to its current name of His Heart Tabernacle in January, 1999 and the Church now functions as an independent Pentecostal fellowship.  The new name reflected the new beginning, direction and vision of the Church with an emphasis on meeting the needs of the community while communicating the heart of God to His people.   New life and revival within the believers who attend the Church is evidenced within this name, “His Heart Tabernacle”.   His heart for us is – ‘to love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind’….and to…‘love thy neighbor as thy self…’ (Matthew 22: 37,39)”.  This is the hallmark of the fellowship of believers at His Heart Tabernacle.

Brother Matthew Smith, Rev. Smith’s husband, is the Church’s Music Minister serving the Lord and the Church as Worship Leader, Choir Director and Soloist.  Accepting the Lord as his personal Saviour in 1983 and filled with the Holy Spirit in 1985, Brother Smith has dedicated the many God given gifts and talents in music, administration and anything he puts his hands to in service to the Lord.

Under the leadership of Rev. Smith, the Church has served the Lord in ministry resulting in many salvations, healings, manifest moves in the Gifts of the Spirit and growth as a fellowship.  As with any movement of God, Rev. Smith’s Spiritual leadership has helped the body to stand in both times of ‘fat and leanness’ – ALL THAT THE DESIRED PURPOSE OF GOD MAY BE FULFILLED.  That vision and calling remains to this day….
